It looks like Twitter's OAuth API upgrade has put the final nail in the coffin for this plugin. I'm running WP 2.3 and it's all but stopped for me recently.

Hi - I'm an amateur; I changed my twitter username and password in your php but my posts aren't tweeting. May I send you the php for you to check if I have done something daft?

Great plugin I've been using for sometime.

I've found a problem with how the database is setup and was hoping you could provide a plugin update.

I think because the plugin creates a table "twitpress", there's a conflict when wordpress blogs in the same database use the plugin. I get the message "Call to undefined function get_twitter_msg()" where the tweet should appear in my second blog.

Each blog has a prefix, but twitpress ignores this, which makes it unusable when wordpress blogs in the same database use the plugin.

Sheridan and Jan,

I wanted something similar and started a fork called TwitCategory:
http://gabriel.nagmay.com/2009/10/twitcategory/

Thomas - I can't thank you enough for creating this plugin (and releasing it GPL). TwitCategory add the following minor functionality:

1) You can select which category results in a tweet. "All categories" is set by default and will work just like Twitpress.

2) [permalink] really show the permalink (not guid).

3) Added [guid] since this is often shorter then the permalink.

4) Added [category] which displays the Category name in the tweet. Right now, it only shows the single category selected, but it could be easily modified to show all other categories as well. If anyone is interested - contact me, or start at line 300.
